At YES FOR EARLY SUCCESS, becoming a Lead Teacher in our ECEAP program is more than just a teaching position—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact on children, families, and communities. We are looking for passionate, innovative, and community-focused educators to join our team in South Tacoma, King County, and the Tri-Cities. 

As a Lead Teacher, you will help ensure that every child, regardless of background, has access to a high-quality early education experience. 

Serve a Mixed-Age Group As a Lead Teacher, you will have the unique opportunity to work with a mixed-age group of children, ranging from 1 to 5 years of age. This allows you to foster a rich learning environment that nurtures individual development at every stage, while building a sense of community across age groups. Your role will be to support each child’s growth, ensuring that their emotional, social, and cognitive needs are met as they prepare for kindergarten.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans for children aged 1-5 that promote kindergarten readiness.
  • Cultivate a warm, inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
  • Collaborate with family support staff, coaches, and community partners to deliver a well-rounded early learning experience tailored to each child’s needs.
  • Support English Language Learners (ELL) and provide individualized attention to ensure children meet developmental milestones.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of YES FOR EARLY SUCCESS's early learning programs. 
  • Mentor assistant teachers and foster a collaborative teaching environment.  

Requirements

  • Must meet DCYF ECEAP Lead Teacher Qualifications to apply. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend with ease and get up and down to children’s eye level to foster meaningful interactions.
  • Walking up and down stairs and moving between classroom areas as needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, ensuring the safety and care of young children.

2 Lead Teacher positions in South Tacoma
2 positions in King County
2 positions in the Tri-Cities.

Signing Bonus and Competitive Pay:  

$250 signing bonus after the first two weeks, and another $250 after the following two weeks. 
Pay ranges from $24.00 per hour to $30.00 per hour depending on education and experience.
